The Montreal Biosphère, formerly the American Pavilion of Expo 67, by R. Buckminster Fuller, on Saint Helen's Island, Montreal, Quebec A geodesic dome is a hemispherical thin-shell structure (lattice-shell) based on a geodesic polyhedron.
