Grammaticalization (also known as grammatization or grammaticization) is a linguistic process in which words change from representing objects or actions to serving grammatical functions. Gramatyzacja, gramatykalizacja – przejście elementu leksykalnego (np. morfemu) z systemu słownikowego do systemu gramatycznego, tzn. traci (całkowicie lub częściowo) lub zmienia swoje znaczenie, a zaczyna pełnić funkcję gramatyczną.
