Grootfontein (afrikaans für Große Quelle) ist eine Gemeinde im gleichnamigen Wahlkreis Grootfontein in der Region Otjozondjupa in Namibia. Im Jahr 2011 hatte die Stadt 16.200 Einwohner. Die Damara nannten den Platz Gei-ǀous, die Herero bezeichneten ihn als Otjiwanda Tjongue, was „Hügelrand des Leoparden“ bedeutet.
