SPECIES
When resting, the broad-bordered bee hawkmoth resembles a bumble bee, but is a much faster flyer. The wings are lightly scaled at first which fall off during the first flight, making them transparent. This hawkmoth feeds while in flight, particularly on flowers from the ajuga.
