Ein Hydrocephalus (von griechisch ὕδωρ hydōr ‚Wasser‘, und κεφαλή kephalē ‚Kopf‘), auch Hydrozephalus geschrieben, ist eine krankhafte Erweiterung der mit Liquor gefüllten Flüssigkeitsräume (Hirnventrikel) des Gehirns. Er wird auch Wasserkopf oder veraltet Gehirnwassersucht und Hydrocephalie genannt.
