En la mitología greco-romana, Io o Ío (en griego antiguo, Ίώ), a veces escrita en castellano antiguo como Ioo o Yoo, es una doncella de Argos, sacerdotisa de la diosa Hera e hija de Ínaco, que fue una de las amantes de Zeus. La unión de Zeus e Ío fue el origen de una nueva diosa proverbial de que los juramentos que nacen por amor no atraen la cólera de los dioses si son quebrados.
