イーオー(古希: Ἰώ, ラテン文字転写: Īō、ラテン語: Io)は、ギリシア神話に登場する女性。ゼウスの恋人であり、牝牛に姿を変えられてギリシアからエジプトまで各地をさまよった。 イーオーの生まれに関しては諸説があり、アイスキュロスら悲劇詩人の多くやオウィディウス、ヒュギーヌス、年代記作者のらは河の神イーナコスの娘であるとし、ヘーシオドス、アクーシラーオスによればペイレーンの娘とする。アポロドーロスはイーアソスの娘との説も紹介している。 イーナコスはアルゴス地方(アルゴリス)を流れる河であり、アルゴスはゼウスの妃ヘーラー信仰の中心地であった。イーオーはアルゴスでヘーラーに仕える女神官を務めたとされる。そして、この様にヘーラー信仰の中心地でヘーラーに仕える巫女であったことや、ヘーラーに関係の深い牝牛に変身したことから、イーオーは本来ヘーラーの別名であり、女神の分身だったと考えられている。
