László Krasznahorkai

László Krasznahorkai is a Hungarian novelist, writer, and screenwriter born on 5 January 1954 in Gyula. He has resided in Berlin and speaks Hungarian. His educational background includes studies at the University of Szeged and Eötvös Loránd University. Krasznahorkai began his work period in 1985 and is a partner in business or sport with Béla Tarr.

His notable works include *Satantango* and *The Melancholy of Resistance*. Other listed works are *Melancolia della resistenza*, *Az urgai fogoly*, *Nem kérdez, nem válaszol*, *Megy a világ*, and *Az utolsó farkas*. He has received the Kossuth Prize, the International Booker Prize, the Vilenica Prize, and the Austrian State Prize for European Literature. Krasznahorkai has three children.
