Laurentius

Laurentius was a male human who lived during the Later Roman Empire. He held the positions of bishop and antipope, and his occupations included Catholic priest and judge. A citizen of Ancient Rome, he practiced Christianity and spoke Latin. He was born in 500 and died in Rome in 507.

The name is also associated with Johannes Laurentius Lydus, an author born in 490 who died around 565. Lydus is credited with 24 works, including *De mensibus quae exstant excerpta*, *Liber de ostentis ex codicibus italicis auctus et Calendaria Graeca omnia*, and *Joannis Laurentii Lydi Philadelpheni De magistratibus reipublicae Romanae libri tres*.
