Nachum "Nakhche" Heiman (היימן נחום or Nachum Heyman or Nachum Hayman; May 6, 1934 – August 17, 2016) was an Israeli songwriter and composer. Many of the hundreds of songs he wrote have become classics and part of the history of Israeli folk music. Nachum Heiman was born in Riga. When he was five years old, his grandfather, Menachem Mendel Heiman, the captain of an icebreaker in the North Sea, smuggled the family by ship from Riga to Gothenburg, Sweden.
