North Governorate (Arabic: الشمال, romanized: Muḥāfaẓat ash-Shamāl) is one of the governorates of Lebanon and one of the two governorates of North Lebanon. Its capital is Tripoli. Ramzi Nohra was the governor from May 2, 2014 until May 14, 2025 when the Ministry of Interior dismissed him. The population of North Governorate is 731,251.
