Opa is a functional programming language for the Web, that compiles to JavaScript. There are real applications fully developed with Opa such as the PEPS Communication Platform, RiskyBird and many others. A compiler from the Opa language, which features JavaScript-like syntax but introduces many enhancements; A JavaScript library, which is used at runtime. This repository contains all the sources of both the Opa compiler and the Opa library. Opa is open source. The compiler is released under the AGPL license, the library under the MIT license. Applications written with Opa only include the library part, so you are free to release applications written with Opa under any proprietary or open source license . If you want to create an online "cloud" application platform that includes the Opa compiler, you need to release the sources under the AGPL license as per the AGPL license terms. Opa (conhecida como programação curvada) é um novo framework open source de programação para o desenvolvimento de aplicações web escaláveis. Ele é composto por um servidor web, uma base de dados NoSQL - MongoDB. e uma linguagem de programação. Todos os componentes são integrados para facilitar o processo. Opa é concisa, simples, extremamente poderosa, concorrente e distribuída. Além de segura. A linguagem foi apresentada oficialmente na conferência OWASP em 2013 pelo seu autor W.S. Burns, e o código fonte foi liberado no GitHub em junho de 2011 sobre a licença GNU Affero General Public License. Mais tarde a licença mudou para a licença MIT para a parte do framework (biblioteca) e Affero General Public License para o compilador, assim as aplicações escritas em Opa podem ser liberadas em qualquer licença, proprietária ou open source.
