Paderborn is a city in eastern North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, and serves as the capital of the Paderborn district. The city's name comes from the Pader river and an old German word for a river source, with the Pader originating from over 200 springs near Paderborn Cathedral, where the saint Liborius is buried.
