Born: August 5 1937 (Brussels); Conductor, composer, pianist. Bartholomée started to study piano at the age of six. With André Dumortier as piano teacher, he became a laureate at the Brussels Conservatory, where he achieved numerous prices. In Italy he followed master classes from Wilhelm Kempff, dedicated to Beethoven's work. Together with Henri Pousseur, he founded Musiques Nouvelles en the Centre de Recherche de Création musicales de Wallonie (Research Centre of Musical Creation of Wallon
