Strålbenet ledar i armbågsleden (art. cubiti) både till överarmsbenet (humerus) och till armbågsbenet. I handleden (art. radiocarpea) ledar strålbenet till handloven (carpus) och till armbågsbenet. Strålbenet sitter lateralt om armbågsbenet, mellan armbågen och tummen, och är mindre och kortare än armbågsbenet.
