Also known as sleeping, rest

Sleep is a state in which your mind and body reduce their activity, your awareness changes, and you become less responsive to your surroundings, though your brain remains actively engaged. This regular period of reduced activity is distinct from wakefulness because of your decreased ability to react to stimuli, yet it involves more active brain function than a coma.
