Tornio [ˈtɔrniɔ] (schwedisch Torneå) ist eine Stadt im Norden Finnlands mit 21.467 Einwohnern (Stand 31. Dezember 2020). Sie gehört zur Landschaft Lappland und liegt unmittelbar an der Grenze zu Schweden an der Mündung des Flusses Tornionjoki in den Bottnischen Meerbusen. Mit dem auf schwedischer Seite gelegenen Haparanda bildet Tornio eine Zwillingsstadt. Das 1621 an der Stelle eines alten Handelsplatzes gegründete Tornio ist die älteste Stadt Lapplands. Über Jahrhunderte ein Zentrum des Lappland-Handels, wurde Tornio 1809 zur Grenzstadt und ist heute ein bedeutender Industriestandort. Hauptsehenswürdigkeit der Stadt ist die 1686 erbaute Holzkirche.
