Vindolanda is een Romeins fort en een burgernederzetting in Engeland (Northumbria) bij de Muur van Hadrianus. Vindolanda was gelegen aan de 'Stanegate' (Oudengels: steenweg), de militaire weg die langs de muur van Hadrianus liep. Deze weg was aangelegd in opdracht van keizer Trajanus.
