pansexuality
Pansexuality is sexual, romantic, or emotional attraction towards people of all genders, or regardless of their sex or gender identity. Pansexual people may refer to themselves as gender-blind, asserting that gender and sex are not determining factors in their romantic or sexual attraction to others.
queer
Queer is an umbrella term for sexual and gender minorities. It is alternately used to refer to people who reject sexual and gender norms and share radical politics characterized by solidarity across lines of identity. Queer is also a self-identity term for many people (similar to but distinct from gay, lesbian, and bisexual), characterized by rejection or disruption of binary categories of sexual orientation and gender.

Kathoey or katoey, commonly translated as ladyboys, is a term used by some people in Cambodia, Laos, and Thailand who were assigned male at birth and present as transfeminine or effeminate. Transgender women in Thailand mostly use terms other than kathoey when referring to themselves, such as (, ). In the context of Thai gender norms, many perceive kathoeys as belonging to a third gender.
outing
Outing is the act of disclosing an LGBTQ person's sexual orientation or gender identity without their consent. It is often done for malicious reasons, either to instrumentalize homophobia, biphobia, and/or transphobia in order to discredit someone, or to combat homophobia, heterosexism, and/or cissexism by revealing that a prominent or respected individual is homosexual and/or transgender. Gay-friendly or LGBTQ-friendly places, policies, people, or institutions are those that are open and welcoming to gay or LGBTQ people. They typically aim to create an environment that is supportive, respectful, and non-judgmental towards the LGBTQ community. The term "gay-friendly" originated in the late 20th century in North America, as a byproduct of a gradual implementation of gay rights, greater acceptance of LGBTQ people in society, and the recognition of LGBTQ people as a distinct consumer group for businesses.

When fumes from these substances are inhaled, they act as potent vasodilators, producing mild euphoria, warmth, and dizziness. Most effects have a rapid onset and are short-acting. In sociology, homosociality means same-sex friendships that are not of a romantic or sexual nature, such as friendship, mentorship, or others. The term was popularized by Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick in her discussion of male homosocial desire. Researchers who use the concept mainly do so to explain how men uphold men's dominance in society.

sissy
Sissy (derived from sister), often cissy, also sissy baby, sissy boy, sissy man, sissy pants, etc., is a pejorative term for a boy or man who does not demonstrate masculine traits, is effeminate and shows possible signs of fragility. Generally, sissy implies a lack of courage, strength, athleticism, coordination, testosterone, libido, and stoicism. A man might also be considered a sissy for being interested in stereotypically feminine hobbies or employment (e.g., being fond of fashion), displaying effeminate behavior, being unathletic or being homosexual.

Straight-acting is a term for LGBT individuals who do not exhibit the typical appearance or mannerisms of what is seen as stereotypically gay. Although the label is used by and reserved almost exclusively for gay and bisexual men, it may also be used to describe lesbian or bisexual women exhibiting a typically feminine appearance and mannerisms. Since the term invokes negative stereotypes of gay people, its application is often controversial and may cause offense. An alternative term for men is simply masculine.

"Queerbaiting" is a term used to describe certain creative and marketing practices (often related to a work of fiction) that seemingly hint at, but do not depict, same-sex romance or other LGBTQ+ representation. A variety of scholars, cultural critics and fans have claimed that these practices are intended to attract ("bait") a queer or straight ally audience with the suggestion or possibility of queer relationships and/or queer characters, while not alienating homophobic members of the audience or censors by explicitly portraying those relationships or characters.

Danmei
Danmei (; also known as BL) is a genre of Chinese literature and other fictional media that features homoerotic relationships between male characters. Derived from Japanese boys' love and influenced by Western slash fiction, danmei is a diverse genre that first emerged online in the late 1990s. Danmei works are primarily hosted online as web fiction, and they are typically consumed by heterosexual women, but also consumed by bisexual and gay individuals. People in China generally use the term yuandan () to refer to danmei, though it actually stands for "original danmei".
