== History == AFRIPOL was formally established in 2014 during the 23rd Ordinary Session of the African Union Assembly held in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. Recognizing the need for a coordinated approach to addressing cross-border crime and security threats, the AU member states endorsed AFRIPOL as the primary platform for police cooperation on the continent.
