Alberto Nepomuceno (Fortaleza, 6 juli 1864 – Rio de Janeiro, 16 oktober 1920) was een Braziliaans componist, muziekpedagoog, dirigent, organist en pianist. Hij wordt algemeen beschouwd als de "vader" van het nationalisme in de klassieke muziek in Brazilië. Hij was een zoon van het echtpaar Vítor Augusto Nepomuceno en Maria Virgínia de Oliveira Paiva.

Alberto Nepomuceno was born in city of Fortaleza, capital of the state of Ceará in northeastern Brazil. His father, Vitor Augusto Nepomuceno was a violin professor and it was with him that Nepomuceno had his first music lessons. In 1888, he was able to leave for Europe to further his musical studies.
