Una botella (viene del francés bouteille y este del latín butticŭla) es un recipiente ideado para contener líquidos y transportarlos, fabricado en materiales rígidos, en su origen de barro y luego de vidrio o metal, y a partir del siglo XX en diferentes tipos de plásticos. El modelo más común presenta un cuello más angosto que el cuerpo del recipiente. La cuarta acepción del Diccionario de la lengua española, señala que una botella también es una medida de capacidad para ciertos líquidos, equivalente a cuartillo y medio, o sea a 756,3 ml. Si la botella es de poca capacidad, se puede denominar «botellín»; generalmente los botellines poseen capacidades de 20, 25 o 33 centilitros.
