Franz Xaver Richter (1st December 1709 – 12th September 1789) was a German composer, born at Holleschau in Moravia. He was one of the most important of the Mannheim symphonists. He joined the Mannheim Orchestra in 1747. From 1769 'til his death he was musical director at Strasbourg Cathedral. He wrote an oratorio, La Deposizione della Croce (1748), twenty-eight masses, numerous motets and psalms, sixty-nine symphonies, and much chamber music. <a href="https://www.last.fm/music/Franz+Xaver+Ric
