Kees van Baaren (1906-1970) was a Dutch composer who introduced Schoenberg's dodecaphonism in The Netherlands. His septet (1952) was the first dodecaphonic piece written in The Netherlands. Van Baaren was also an important teacher. Among his students were many names who would dominate the Dutch avant garde scene in the sixties and seventies, like Louis Andriessen, Reinbert de Leeuw, Misha Mengelberg, Peter Schat, and Jan van Vlijmen. <a href="https://www.last.fm/music/Kees+van+Baaren">Read more
