==Chemical properties== Chlorophyllin is water-soluble. In vitro, it binds to some environmental mutagens such as the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons [[Benzo(a)pyrene|benzo[a]pyrene]] and [[Dibenzo(a,i)pyrene|dibenzo[a,i]pyrene]]. Chlorophyllin also binds to acridine orange.
