Paraldehyde is het cyclisch trimeer van aceetaldehyde, met als brutoformule C6H12O3. Structureel gezien is het een derivaat van trioxaan. De stof komt voor als een kleurloze vloeistof met een kenmerkende geur. Ze is quasi-onoplosbaar is water, maar zeer goed in ethanol. Paraldehyde wordt in de geneeskunde gebruikt als slaapmiddel en anti-epilepticum; in de industrie en laboratoria als oplosmiddel.
