Polyhalit ist ein eher selten vorkommendes Mineral aus der Mineralklasse der „Sulfate“. Es kristallisiert im triklinen Kristallsystem mit der chemischen Zusammensetzung K2Ca2Mg[SO4]4·2H2O und entwickelt meist nadelige, tafelige oder prismatisch-säulige Kristalle, aber auch schuppige oder faserige Mineral-Aggregate. Durch Zwillingsbildung täuscht Polyhalit oft eine orthorhombische Symmetrie vor.
