Berosso

Berossus (400 BCE–300 BCE) was a male priest, historian, writer, and astronomer active during the Hellenistic period. Born in Babylon, he worked in Babylonia and held citizenship in both the Achaemenid Empire and the Seleucid Empire. His fields of work included history, astronomy, and astrology. He wrote in Ancient Greek, and his name in the native language is recorded as Βηροσσος or Berossos.

Known by the author name Berosus the Chaldean, he is associated with several works, including *Berosi chaldaei sacerdotis Reliquorúmque consimilis argumenti autorum* and *Chaldaeorum historiae quae supersunt*.
