== Preparation == Dihydrolevoglucosenone can be prepared through the hydrogenation of unsaturated ketone levoglucosenone (LGO) with heterogenous palladium catalysts under mild conditions. LGO is a chemical building block obtained by acid-catalyzed pyrolysis of lignocellulosic biomass such as sawdust.
