بيتر ميتشل

Peter Dennis Mitchell (1920–1992) was a British biochemist, chemist, and university teacher. Born in Surrey, he was educated at the University of Cambridge and Jesus College. His professional career included positions at the University of Cambridge and the University of Edinburgh. Mitchell’s work focused on biochemistry, bioenergetics, and molecular biology. He was a member of the Royal Society, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the French Academy of Sciences, and the National Academy of Sciences.

Mitchell received several honors, including the Nobel Prize in Chemistry, the Copley Medal, the Rosenstiel Award, and the title of Fellow of the Royal Society. He was recognized in the Royal Society, American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and Nobel Laureates collections. Mitchell died in Bodmin in 1992.
