Polysporangiophytes, also called polysporangiates or formally Polysporangiophyta, are plants in which the spore-bearing generation (sporophyte) has branching stems (axes) that bear sporangia. The name literally means 'many sporangia plant'. The clade includes all land plants (embryophytes) except for the bryophytes (liverworts, mosses and hornworts) whose sporophytes are normally unbranched, even if a few exceptional cases occur. 多孢植物(Polysporangiophytes,polysporangiates,旧名 Polysporangiophyta),又称 多囊植物,指的是在孢子体阶段有终止在孢子囊的分支的茎(轴)的植物。学名的意思即为有许多孢子囊的植物。演化支包含所有陆地植物(有胚植物),但孢子体不分支的苔藓植物(苔类、藓类和角苔纲)除外。此外有另外一种定义是指有独立的维管组织存在的植物,即维管植物,因为现存的所有多胞植物都有维管组织。但现已探明古多胞植物没有维管组织,不属于维管植物。
