Субти́тры (от фр. sous-titres — подписи; жарг. — са́бы, от англ. subtitles) — текстовое сопровождение видеоряда на языке оригинала или переводное, дублирующее и иногда дополняющее, например для зрителей с нарушенным слухом, звуковую дорожку кинофильма или телепередачи. В субтитрах отражена прежде всего речь людей и персонажей в кадре, но иногда таким образом отображаются дополнительные комментарии. Обычно субтитры оформляют как текст, написанный шрифтом среднего размера и расположенный в нижней части экрана (лат. sub — «под»).
