Bromhexin ist ein Arzneistoff aus der Gruppe der Expektorantien, der gegen festsitzenden Husten wie er z. B. bei einer Bronchitis auftritt, eingesetzt wird. Ein verwandter, ebenfalls als Schleimlöser eingesetzter Wirkstoff ist das Ambroxol, ein Metabolit des Bromhexins.
