Also known as MK-240, N-methyl-5H-dibenzo[a,d]cycloheptene-5-propylamine, 7-(3-methylaminopropyl)-1,2:5,6-dibenzocycloheptatriene, 5-(3-methylaminopropyl)-5H-dibenzo[a,d]cycloheptene, amimetilina, 3-(5H-dibenzo[a,d]cyclohepten-5-yl)-N-methyl-1-propanamine, N-methyl-5H-dibenzo[a,d]cycloheptene-5-propanamine

Protriptyline, sold under the brand name Vivactil among others, is a tricyclic antidepressant (TCA), specifically a secondary amine. Uniquely among most of the TCAs, protriptyline tends to be energizing instead of sedating, and is sometimes used for narcolepsy to achieve a wakefulness-promoting effect.
