La fenilefrina, metaoxedrina o neooxedrina es un agonista α-1 selectivo (es decir estimula de manera selectiva los receptores α-1) usado principalmente como descongestivo y como un agente para dilatar la pupila e incrementar la presión arterial. La fenilefrina ha sido recientemente usado en el mercado como sustituto de la pseudoefedrina, aunque se ha sugerido que la fenilefrina tomada por vía oral no es más eficaz en sus acciones como descongestionante que un placebo.​
