Fumarsäure ist der Trivialname einer in der Natur vorkommenden organisch-chemischen Substanz. Es ist eine ungesättigte Dicarbonsäure mit dem IUPAC-Namen trans-Butendisäure, auch trans-Ethylendicarbonsäure genannt. Ihre Salze heißen Fumarate. Die isomere cis-Form heißt Maleinsäure.
